Pros

The health insurance was a great benefit.

Cons

Management is utterly incompetent. It's beyond reprehensible just how distant they are. They've outsourced IT and now instead of blaming problems on the people who are supposedly those that perform out IT jobs, they hand out reprimands to those few of us in-house whenever the outsourced company makes a mistake. Management has no idea just how bad it is on the floor. They patients are resources to be harvested, and they don't show face when tasked with coming to the floor and asking how our lives are.

Pros

Benefits, competitive pay, financially successful organization, respected throughout the industry, great for initial management training and resume building. Learn many things about what not to do when you get the chance to be a Chief.

Cons

Golden handshake, climate of fear, loyalty only goes up not down. Everyday could be your last day. Tenure is short term unless you are on the safe side of the ledger. Status changes virtually everyday depending upon who you displease.

No job security

Pros

If you are a front line medical provider it may be an ok place to work.

Cons

There is absolutely no job security. OhioHealth outsourced 100's of IT positions to India. They outsourced most of their medical coding positions to India. They outsourced most revenue cycle billing positions to India. They just outsourced additional billing analyst positions to India this month. If you accept a job at OhioHealth in the finance, coding, or revenue cycle realm be aware that you may not have a job for long.
