Pros

There are good benefits. It's the only thing people stay for.

Cons

Women get paid less and treated like objects. You will be asked to take up more responsibility but never get paid or promoted. You will be micromanaged and nagged at like an hourly grunt despite being a professional with years of experience. No one will listen to valid complaints and make excuses about politics as to why no one here is happy.

Oklahoma County -- Challenging Environment with some good people

Pros

Despite the inherent challenges associated with working in a government setting, there are a lot of good people that work there. This is a good place to go to retire.

Cons

Highly dysfunctional organization with an overwhelmingly strong desire to keep the status quo with no regards to efficient operations or spending money wisely. Most of the elected officials could never be successful in the business world because they have no clue how to manage, lead, operate, or spend wisely.

Pros

Benefits is the only good thing here.

Cons

District 2 is an absolute dumpster fire. Management literally does not care about the workers. They talk a big game but bend over faster for an elected official that does nothing downtown. Management and HR will straight up lie to your face to get you to work and act like nothing happen. They have no integrity. Most the workers know they are being screwed in low pay, but don't have the drive or the backing to do anything about it. Had an employee there couldn't afford to put food on his table, so it became a burden on the rest of the workers to feed him. The Commissioner couldn't care less. They expect you to obtain better training and certifications but it won't increase your value to them. Stay away, District 1 & 3 are way better.
