Pros

Fantastic people on the non-management side. Co-workers are really a family environment, everyone helps out. Dog-friendly office, convenient location, occasionally the upper management would cater lunches and dinners if we stayed late (which was pretty frequent.) Alcohol for after-work parties, on occasion.

Cons

Upper management is sexist, old-school, white man old-boys club that's Mad Men style, in a bad way. Not involved with the lower employees at all, and condescending. Terrible work/life balance... quite frequently upper management would take the team on a fun group outing, but creative dept. was expected to stay and work overtime without so much as a thank you, and excluded from the fun group activities due to the work demand. Turnover rate was atrocious. Squeeze every penny from the employees they can and rely on the 'fun work atmosphere' to entice potential employees.

Pros

Interesting, hip space in downtown Jacksonville. Hardworking, well-meaning rank and file. Founded by "a couple of Yankees" who get a somewhat unfair rap in local ad circles for being "stuck up", at least the place doesn't put out the incestuous, my-daddy-started-this-agency-in-1952 vibe that some others around here do.

Cons

Insecure top management who react to genuine competence and talent as threats to their own egos. Writers, ADs and designers are few and overworked. Many account people who've never worked anywhere else, those who have coming from backgrounds that have little to no relevance to advertising. One large account that represents most of their billings...and it's retail.
