CEO is disingenuous

Pros

It's an interesting opportunity and if onDiem turns things around it could be a huge success one day

Cons

I worked here for a very short amount of time. I was hired and almost all of my paychecks were hand written by the CEO or venmoed to me or a cash delivery. Why? Well apparently, he hired without any of the capital to pay his employees for more than a few weeks. I understand it's a startup and there are some risks involved, that's why I joined. But why hire someone if you don't have the cash on hand to even make their first paycheck. I imagine he would say something like he was waiting on funding and always knew he could supplement from his personal funds or something. Even if that's the case, what does that say about his judgment?

Pros

Relaxed atmosphere, great coworkers, felt like I could contribute a lot.

Cons

Very unstable, almost every single paycheck was late, no transparency, one day everything was great, the next day everyone was furloughed. HR department was incredibly unprofessional and I was not made aware that I (along with almost everyone else) was actually fired until I reached out and asked.

Pros

onDiem has been nothing but generous toward me. The CEO is great and super excited about the growth of the company. The CTO is absolutely amazing. He cares for his employees and wants them to succeed. He encourages you to develop and learn new skills, and provides opportunities to get hands on in every aspect of the projects we have going on. * Company provides continuing education - whether it is a book or a Udemy course * Work from home has been great. And the team meets regularly via Zoom. Post 'rona, there are talks of company get togethers * Zero micromanagement. The CEO and CTO trust us to get our work done and to pitch in where and when we can.

Cons

While not really cons, but opportunities; our priorities board and desired projects just keeps getting bigger. The CTO does a really good job of breaking down project time lines into quarterly goals and prioritizing projects based on size and value added.
