You will be working with a population that really needs and deserves quality care.
Cons
You will also be working with leadership that behaves like they are still in middle school. They will not respect your boundaries and will behave like children. They will have camera crews and visitors coming in to the clinic with little to no notice and you will be expected to put on a show for the visitors. Just drop whatever clinical stuff you are doing and accommodate that because I guess in some world that is ok.
Good intentions of the lowest paid employees, usually people with present or past SUDs, whose constant exposure to people actively using can actually be harmful.
Cons
From the highest level to the managers, cronyism, money stays at the top, I am incredulous that they just got a huge grant. It will stay at the top. Shoddy practices, poor to no supervision and questionable practices. It is a sad place to work and if this is the face of harm reduction, I feel for the SUDs.
