I worked at Onondaga County full-time for less than a year

    Pros

VERY good salary-EXCELLENT BENEFITS-Most peers friendly and cooperative-Above year may/may not be accurate to prevent identification-Recommendation below SOLELY for listed items here

    Cons

Some IM I-level supers go above & beyond to assist staff, whereas some IM I-level and IM-II hold you accountable, for instance, for errors created in office B when you could have not known what was done since office B did not send the info to yours. Management/Supers more concerned with reducing worker to public contact through in-person, phone or written correspondence even if errors result. The less interaction time recorded on monthly report submitted to management (commish, et al), the better -No ability to move forward unless take next level of exams or those in another career path

I have been working at Onondaga County full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Good pay and decent hours.

    Cons

Lack of knowledgable supervisors and good leadership. Negative work environment, perpetuated by the management. Depending on department, high caseloads or tasks assigned, difficult to keep up with it and hard take time off because you'll get further behind. Only way to survive is to keep quiet, your head down and avoid having a single individual thought or opinion.
