Delusional About Their Culture

Pros

Some people are competent and get things done; there is some learning to be had

Cons

They pride themselves on their culture, but it's not unique or different than anywhere else. Incompetence and missing goals are rewarded; the senior team never ceases to pat themselves on the back; not a good place to work if you're female; funding can be in jeopardy at any time

Pros

- Work from home - New challenges - Courses are reimbursed - Good place to get entry-level experience - The benefits are great and so is the pension

Cons

- Hard to get a promotion and not a lot of room for growth in a lot of the positions - Instead of giving you a promotion they make you apply to it as if it was a new job - Unfair treatment of employees. HR and upper management have their favourites who get promotions and salary raises more easily than others - Unfair division of work within teams (some people have their hands full while others do the bare minimum)

Politics People get transferred/ promoted with no clear process and based on who is championing for them; this applies for pay too Jobs come and go in the organization without any postings Slow to get things done
