Senior leadership, and the new CEO (not Annemarie Grassi as listed on Glassdoor) in particular, are not very strong. There is a constant lack of clarity around roles, responsibilities, and expectations. People are often encouraged to speak up, but if they voice any disagreement, they are pushed out of the organization. The new CEO is manipulative and uses tactics similar to those of an emotional abuser as a management style.
The organization is bleeding talent, and while they may point to a decreased turnover rate, just know that over half their program leadership team has left in the last six months, and countless other talented direct program staff have left as well. I'm sure there are many excuses given for this, but the reasons are obvious: leadership does not value initiative, they are threatened by influence, and they are insecure. The employees of ODA deserve better.
