Pros

Training department was great! No complaints.

Cons

Very cut throat. If you make any mistakes be prepared to hear about it from several staff members. The stress of being perfect is almost too much to handle. If you’re working remotely and are away from your computer for any short period of time your manager will text you, call you, instant message you, etc… my manager was always exercising, and homeschooling her 5 kids while on Skype meetings but your expected to be 100% available at all times with no distractions. I was working remotely from my parents house so I could keep an eye on my dying Mother. This was frowned upon. I worked there for a year with no mistakes and met all expectations. I made a little oversight that was caught and able to be corrected before closing and was reprimanded harshly by my manager who then immediately demoted me to a junior underwriter. She lied to me telling me it was only temporary and meant to be a learning experience. I did this for almost 8 months and even worked alongside the training department to develop checklists for junior underwriters. I was excelling and would repeatedly ask when I would go back to senior underwriter level. I was ignored every time. I expressed my disappointment as I had now been there 2 years. I was unexpectedly let go. They said I was being laid off but those were not the words they used. I was very angry. Felt like 2 years were wasted.
