Work here only if you cant find a job
Pros
Work/Life balance with lots of flexibility. There really isn't anything else that is good about this company. Pristine and ideal image in marketing materials and publicity, however, the day-to-day operation is far from glamorous.
Cons
No raises No benefits Bonuses given to a select few. Few and far between. They are severely understaffed and employees are spread too thin. Make promise after promise after promise to employees and their customers with no follow up. Lack of learning opportunities, fails to promote mentorship, and offers no more than the role you’ve applied for. But they pride themselves on saying employees wear many different hats. This is a company preys on impressionable people. They pay less than the market rate because they tell job applicants that their work will support a great growing company and they have other big projects in the works and the company money is tied up in these projects. You can make more if you bring business to the company. Don't fall for it. If they pay employees more money and provide benefits, then it will be less money to support their lifestyle of multiple houses, cars, boats, and vacations. Less money for their own bank accounts. Never short on big ideas and even bigger energy, but follow-through isn’t the management’s strong suit. The few executives spend time brainstorming, too few employees tasked with executing. They act like they are innovators full of outlandish dreams can be attractive but wildly unpredictable with their bevy of ideas and nonstop ideations that are, yes, full of grandeur and potential but short on expertise and focus. This tends to cause a trickle-down effect throughout the rest of the company and employees. No clear plan for the future, employees don’t know true long-term goals, senior leadership fails to adequately communicate. The owner and family has a short attention span, is easily distracted and is affected by “Shiny Object Syndrome”. The owners tendency is easily distracted and they get sucked into unnecessary conversations and explorations; they lose sight of the end (read: ultimate) goal; they are unable to delegate work; they get sidetracked putting out fires, and they fail to make time for answering customers emails and phone calls. The end result for this company and employees is burnout, unexecuted strategies, and half-baked projects. They tout all the bells and whistles but lack a clear direction. They are not forthright about where they stand financially, where they see themselves going, and are not willing to talk about or admit to any major challenges. They lack a plan for growth and that the foundation is very shaky. Over inflated ROI to the customer’s and offer low service fees to win business, promise of white glove service is anything but. If you accept a job at this company go in with your eyes wide open. They are excellent sales people.
