You are paid under market for what the expectations of the job are. This used to be OK when we were reliably hitting a generous bonus every year and the work culture was solid, but neither are by any means sure things anymore. Top leadership is completely non-existent. There has been no CEO or onsite chairman since 2019, and the board are faraway venture capitalists whom you never see, yet they are making the most important decisions for the company. They are not lending the VP's support or holding them accountable. Some real cognitive dissonance there. No quality control processes whatsoever - a big problem for a $40 million manufacturer. Some long-tenured, productive employees have left for these very reasons.
