Pros

This is a work hard/play hard atmosphere. It was an amazing position for the short legislative session, but I could not sustain it long term. I have heard that the interim can be very slow. There are so many social events during session and free food! You will undoubtedly make one friend if you work a session. There is SO MUCH to learn working in the legislature.

Cons

Your experience will completely depend on who your boss is. One legislator's office is not the same as any other office culture. There can be a lots of competition or comparison with colleagues, but it is a great learning experience- about others and yourself.
