Pros

Great colleagues and free coffee, occasional office banter

Cons

Salaries far below market rate, there is a massive inequality between salaries offered to foreign staff, and british staff doing the sale role (often less qualified) Staff fired often without apparent reason, or made redundant unexpectedly. I worked at Orwell for a year and witnessed approximately 40 staff come and go (mostly go) of an average staff of 70. Whole department of 12 made redundant just 8 weeks after they were hired and trained (shocking recruiting decisions) Job titles assigned randomly and without structure (I witnessed one employee jump from ‘entry level’ to ‘Director’ with the space of a month) Inadequate leadership, hard work goes unnoticed and salary reviews are not existent. If you are looking for a role that offers career progression, fair salaries and a work-life balance, turn around now! Executive management are Laurel and hardy comedy duo, who have lost all respect from their staff.

You will likely have found that disparity in income between salaries, were not reflective of the origin of workers, but the result of subcontractors not receiving the same salary as our direct employees. In Orwell we pay at market rate and we can justify any differences in pay which will be reflective only on experience and skillset. The dispersions and hugely inaccurate statements made in this review are unrealistic and themselves dishonest. Whilst all companies will have opportunities to improve, we are continually working to increase employee engagement as our recent internal survey (March 2016) demonstrates: 75% of our employee respondents would recommend Orwell as a good place to work.

Pros

- Good teams and nice people - the idea of Ipagoo is good but implemented by the wrong company

Cons

- No benefits - No care about employees even if you work hard and put the hours - Management do not know how to manage people or look after their own people - For management to fire people is easy and no appeals - They can destroy you emotionally and psychical - CANNOT BE TRUSTED

We value our employees and as such follow necessary statutory procedures when we are forced to let a member of staff leave the company, even in the case of a dismissal. To suggest that the Company fire people easily is untrue and we do our best to support our staff to avoid dismissals as far as is reasonably practicable.

Pros

Free tea, coffee and kitchen usage

Cons

Industrial revolution-era attendance policies: if someone works after hours in the evening you should expect to see them arriving late next morning. You don't have to track those hours. If you're tracking hours for salaried employees, you are unclear on the concept of a salary. Success is defined by the people at the top, and the folks doing the work do not get to set their own goals or decide how best to do their jobs. When people quit (quite often) there is a little no discussion about it. Employees are afraid to mention their former colleagues' name after their leave. Once somebody quits, it's as though your former and well-liked co-worker never existed.
