1) Even as a manager, you pay for your meals. They deduct ~$4/day for you to eat. This is unheard of in any restaurant group I’ve ever worked within, kinda bizarre really.
2) No bonus insensitive. Also very bizarre, what’s the point of management giving it 110% if it doesn’t truly matter?
3) The salaries don’t make up for the lack of a bonus.
4) The GM has an ego. Everything is “me, me, me”. He acts as though he’s the owner of the company when he requests and states what he wants, it’s rather annoying.
5) Much of the FOH staff doesn’t speak English. How is a manager in NYC supposed to communicate and lead their team if they can’t even be fluent in the predominant language?
6) And finally, the food and beverage menu is far too cluttered, difficult to remember, difficult for the BOH, ect. They want a lot of options so guests have a lot of options, but in the end you’re left with a menu so large all the dishes are mediocre in quality and half the management and staff can’t remember allergens.
