Unqualified HR & Management

Pros

Nice co-workers, and direct supervisors. No stress at the end of the day, when you go home. Good location. Lots of parking. Some people are trying their best to make the company better but there are too many egos/barriers.

Cons

No incentives to stay, with poor benefits not keeping up with the times. Poor cohesion between departments leading to mico-managing to feel in control, while ignoring the root cause. No empowerment to succeed in any position, no tools. YEP NO TOOLS. No system of almost any kind in place, and lots of finger pointing. Emotional egos get in the way of open-mindedness and the success for this company. This mentality, and essential pesonnel in key roles, will be this companys downfall. Arm management & HR with quality training in THEIR JOB, or hire qualified personnel to replace them. You cannot lead from behind a desk or computer screen. High turn over, so far. Rude people in/assisting HR. Persecution of innovative ideas, which really aren't innovative in the industry, just this company. Poor morale, and stealing scarce shop supplies from each other. Work culture could be better.

Company is still growing

Pros

A long-time company that is still growing. Lots of opportunity to learn new tasks and cross train with other products. Most of the employees are willing to go that extra mile to help you succeed. The owners are there daily and try to be involved with everyday activities. Supervisors and leaders work closely with their teams to encourage them the best that they can to meet the goals put before them.

Cons

Many of the promotions are done without any real management training. This causes confusion and frustration at all levels of the teams. Departments feel that other departments are treated better and do not seem to have the big picture all the time. There are a few poisonous people within the company that can make it difficult at times for others.

Know What You're Getting Into

Pros

Honestly, this place seems like it could be a great place to work. There's a lot to learn and you get to work on some pretty neat equipment. Granted, a lot of it is outdated, but still.

Cons

I'm not sure if the people who run the company are either crooks or just straight incompetent. If you're not careful, they'll list you as a "Contractor" when you should be a payroll employee. The work environment itself is straight hostile at times. There are several employees who are completely abusive and manipulative to other employees. Since they're friends with the right people, they're never going to get in actual trouble. The workplace is full of micromanaging, political wannabees. So many of the leads there are arguing with each other, trying to back stab, and blame everyone for everything. Rather than just sitting down and getting the job done, it's drawn out for days on end, wasting time and money. There is literally no room for growth within this company. When you come on, you're given a document of their "tier" system. It is strictly seniority based, so you won't get a raise or promotion until you've been there for a minimum of 5 years. If you're looking to retire there, works great. If you're trying to build up your career, 5 years is a very long time without a raise. Especially if it doesn't matter how hard you work.
