Pros

Supportive peers (when management is not helpful)

Cons

Upper management stigmatize mental health Lack of interest in positive change for the organization Conflict of interest with upper management Gossiping from supervisors Inadequate pay and benefits Unwillingness for continued growth and change in upper management Inadequate HR for resolution of grievances Targets employees for reporting grievances I did not have a good experience with this organization, especially the leadership, who are supposed to be setting the examples of the mission to better care for the clients.

Pros

This is good news: CAP intends to let Our House continue providing client-centered care without getting in the way. CAP, a larger organization, is unionized. Its better pay and benefits will accrue to OH staff. There may be opportunities to apply for jobs at other CAP-member organizations. Our House's finances will benefit from greater economies of scale -- and from its no longer having to fund the salary of an executive director.

Cons

There was much sadness over a few years, when many staff left following a change in upper management. But that emotion has passed. People who work here now seem to be happy.
