Pros

Great people, good culture, lovers of coffee (they have an outrageously high ratio of coffee machines).

Cons

Their salaries were a little low for the type of work they asked their employees for (circa 2022)

Pros

The general staff are amazing. Most, if not all of the support is given by the floor staff to new comers. The customers are amazing and the pace at work is great on most days.

Cons

Terrible management, they’re a clique within themselves and could not care any less about sales advisors. Every sales advisor is either frustrated or upset with the management in one way or another. Unless you’re a “team leader”, you don’t mean a lot to your manager. During the interview you’re told you get £100 allowance for uniform and a 25% discount. They fail to tell you that the allowance is infact £75, and the discount is only given if you open a store credit card with them; and even then no one informs you if you’ve got uniform and when you’re eligible to apply for the discount. No support for new employees. You don’t have to baby someone, but proper training should be given. No point getting angry and frustrated at an employee when you haven’t trained them properly in the first place. Staying behind an HOUR after closing time to clean up. Not allowing employees to converse between themselves (not even a “bye see you later”), but standing around as managers for lengthy periods of time chit-chatting. You’re not even allowed water on the shop floor. God forbid you ask to go get some water. Or even a trip to the loo is a big ask. Air con? Forget about it! This may sound like a lot, but it’s the truth. You need a lot of thick skin to work for them as often sarcastic comments are made or you’re spoken down to and it’s known between staff that “that’s just the way things are”.
