Pros

Salary and benefits were competitive for Mexico region, but nothing you can't find elsewhere. They offer you a cutting-edge computer for working, usually MPB-15 or 16 inch, with 16GB RAM and stuff. You can find very skilled and talented people from Mexico and Brazil working there, but you can count them with one hand.

Cons

People are very negative regarding embracing change, be it technical, mgmt, etc, mostly a huge part of the team working in India/Nepal because there's a strong friend relationship between them and the CEO, who's always protecting them no matter what. Leadership from dev managers is often not quite adequate, they make you work overtime and they frequently ask you to work even on weekends. There's a poor resource management and most people joining the team go without being properly onboarded. HR team has an awful attitude facing cultural problems and situations where some coworker is being disrespectful against others, so they mostly cover situations involving harassment or discrimination to avoid taking actions according to law. They prefer to let go without a justified reason of people who stood up against these situations than acting according to law. Direction of the company is quite uncertain. This company seems more like a temporal one which i highly doubt will reach a good end in the near future. If you take a look at their social networks, there are many comments from people who are very unsatisfied with the service they're receiving.

Pros

Nice people with some really creative ideas. Fun, flexible environment with an anything goes attitude---but in a good way. No idea is too small and there are no egos to speak of.

Cons

A little scatter brained. Startup company that doesn't seem to know what direction it's headed. Financial situation seems uncertain and I don't see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Pros

Salary above the market, but you can get a better one in other places if you follow the money. Usage of trendy tech stack, if you want to improve your skills with the latest Tech buzzword, this is your place.

Cons

The expectation is to work more than 14 hrs / day, this is an inherited situation, almost all business logic reside in Nepal/India, that strategy force you to work in 2 or 3 Timezones, constant sync is required because the team is divergent, if you do not make it, you can get comparisons trying to lower your self esteem or even yelling at you (gaslighting), having meetings or coding after midnight looks a norm. Poor architectural leadership. Suggestions, opinions or even rising a hand for any issue/design are not allowed, if it does not align with the mindset of the one who take decisions then you can get yelled, intimidated or get compared to lower your self esteem, this harassment attitude is very known in the company and it is allowed and even promoted. (There are 2 glassdoor sites for oyster.io - the Fintech for SME - putting this in the two places)
