I would liken my time at Panos Brands as spending time in the underworld (which coincidentally panos is Greek for torch, or fire). Praise the lord it's over… In fact, the company would be more appropriately named The DPRP (Democratic People's Republic of Panos), as I believe working here is probably similar to working under the North Korean leadership.
If you enjoy being put down constantly, told you don't know what you're doing, and you're replaceable, then this is the place for you! If you enjoy quarterly sales & marketing red faced yelling festivals and being torn apart in front of your entire team, then you should join the company (where everybody gets publicly humiliated). Nothing inspires or motivates you to work harder than spending 60% of your life away from your family, and then being told you don't work hard. If you love having one man hold up every process from samples, promos, pricing, and simple conversations for weeks at a time, to eventually lose that client or opportunity due to the slow response, then this is definitely the place for you. If you love hearing from your boss how smart he is and that all distributors, brokers, and retail category managers don't have the mental capacity to do their jobs well, then you should definitely consider working here.
I feel corporate bully is too soft of a term to describe the CEO. I may suggest calling him "He who shall not be named", Lord V., Tom Riddle, Kim Jung Un, Putin, Fidel, possibly El Diablo, but I would never call him CEO.
If you enjoy half-truths, manipulated numbers to make you look bad, and poor decision making, then sign up for the show! If you love hearing that every brand in the company is in a steady decline because of all the sales team members (not the fact that nearly every sales person has only been on the team for a year or less because he can't keep them), and nothing to do with his corporate bullying mentality, then you've found a perfect fit!
I would guess "Lord V." is manipulating the financial numbers when presenting to the Share Holders and private equity partners, as I find it difficult to believe they would allow him to continue to sink this ship if they were aware of the truth.
Amongst the social #metoo movement, I've often thought there should be a campaign against corporate bullies like this one.
When several of your colleagues are taking medication to cope with the mental beatings and stress, you know there are issues.
Long story short, if you find yourself unable to turn away from a painfully slow train wreck leading to death and destruction, then by all means, join the DPRP today!
