Pros

Quarterly Bonus Always something to do and never boring

Cons

You might as well forget your life, because PCC owns you. Weekends, holidays, birthdays, birth of you first child. They could care less because that little brat is going to cost the company money. Your life is measured like a production statistic and once they use you up, goodbye. You are like a cow that hasn't run out of milk. But once you do, they come out and shoot you between the eyes. The level of stress at this plant is so bad that I have seen managers throw cell phones, regular phones, punch computers, etc. I would recommend that the company give out free stress balls but I am pretty sure they would simply turn into additional projectiles. On a positive note, it reminds me of a quote from a movie, "If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball!" On that same note, manager interactions sometimes are profanity laced diatribes, personal attacks, and general disrespect that makes everyone uncomfortable. I would also recommend that HR give each new employee a pair of diapers for that moment when they wet themselves from a newly developed nervous bladder. Accomplishments of any sort (better yields, more production, variable cost improvements, sales goals) are not accomplishments. They are merely looked as signs that you weren't working hard enough to begin with. Reasons are rationalizations, and thoughtfulness is laziness. More people here have had heart attacks, panic attacks, divorces, and general breakdowns than any company I have every worked for. Hey safety lady, I suggest you put a suicide net on the roof just in case someone decides to jump one day. Promotion-wise, you have to be one of the chosen ones to get ahead. AKA drinking with your boss because merit based promotion can't explain this level of incompetence. The engineering department is a joke. Unless it is the end of the quarter or there is a fire drill, you won't see them come down from their palace in the sky for something other than a bathroom break or a cup of coffee. They are completely out of touch with what is going on downstairs. Management are a bunch of self-serving egomaniacs who will take credit for all your ideas and then call it a "team effort". All while they are getting promotions and salary increases, while you get a crappy raise and the "work harder" speech. The Human Resources department has literally sucked "human" out of the profession. All files are online in a kiosk, and unless you are under the bright lights or the waterboard of an inquiry, there is no reason for you to be there. Temp workers rotate so fast that ever the temp agencies can't keep up with the demand to replace them. When unemployed people would rather sell plasma for $20 and a cookie then work for your company, you may want to look into that. Routers are constantly not signed off, engineering holds are either worked right through or shoved in a corner. EP's are ignored as a general rule. Raises are a joke, inflation goes up 2%, and your raise is 1%. I'm not mathematician but I think you've just been give the middle finger by management. Record sales every quarter that translates into flat line bonuses which defies calculation. Bonuses occasionally are siphoned to the shareholders because of course if there is anyone that works harder for their money, its the shareholders. Production goals are unrealistic. There is no planning for the ups and down of business, just the reaction which is always met with irrational panic. Equipment is falling apart and safety issues go unresolved because it hurts variable cost to repair anything correctly the first time. Band-aid and run so you can hit your numbers for the day. But no worries, the equipment still runs and there are evacuation procedures if anything goes wrong. Maintenance resume have as much experience as a mechanic assistant at Jiffy Lube. The maintenance staff that can do anything is spread so thin that unless you are a critical piece of equipment (Foundry or Mold Wash), grab your pliers and fix it yourself. A former Army manager at our plant once said that he would rather do another tour in Iraq than work here for another month, needless to say he didn't stick around.

Pros

They are desperate to get people so landing a job without experience isnt too hard.

Cons

Pay is uncompetitive, bonus is a lure, and management looks at people as if they were machines to be pushed to the breaking limit. So there is high turnover, greater than 50% in areas.

Pros

Usually able to work at your own pace with little interference from superiors. Quiet and controlled atmospheric conditions. Great job if looking for stability without advancement.

Cons

Advancement is lacking even if you are better qualified than others, since finding a replacement the position in this job is difficult and training is lengthy. Constant "hot" assignments, lacking support from resources, equipment and upper engineering.
