      A one-trick pony not ready for prime time.

      Pros

      - Giveaways for people who write positive reviews on Glassdoor. This, despite the potential to run afoul of FTC Disclosure requirements, leads to transparently fake reviews...but at least there are 5 stars by them. - The money they save by not providing severance to laid off employees is spent on things like a Trivia night. The Trivia night has free appetizers. - 7 flavors of LaCroix in the fridge. That includes lime.

      Cons

      - They don't listen to the experts they hire to do a job. It's obvious they've been successful at one thing. But, until they listen to people who are better than them at other things, the company won't go anywhere. - As others have said on this site, the CMO is a feckless contrarian who everyone from her team to the owners actively avoid. Everything people said about her is true but nothing is done about it. - People uprooted their life to move and work on this project team. Then, they were laid off with little reason and no severance. You shouldn't work here unless you are willing to dip into your emergency fund when the owners change their mind.

      Value yourself because PEAK6 will not.

      Pros

      There are a handful of gems at the company, but they are leaving.

      Cons

      1) Underpaying employees - everyone I know that has left is making 10-30K more after leaving, and those were for non-trading roles. 2) The environment is toxic. REALLY TOXIC. 3) Your expertise does not matter to them. Even if you are hired to do a job, if the ownership has made up their mind, you have already lost. 4) Upper management. This one is two fold, as they are not actually able to do the work they need to (a waste of talent in that regard) and seem to be grossly blind to the reality and feelings of their employees.

      Pros

      The fact that I don't have to be in the office anymore is a giant PLUS. No more drama, no more managers coming up and intimidating employees, no more useless meetings, no more office politics.

      Cons

      Everything they tell you about this place take with a grain of salt. The truth is worse. It is a very very very political place. It is very bureaucratic. It is all about PowerPoints, facetime and blindly drinking the Koolaid. If you are the type of person who will not question anything and will just follow orders without rocking the boat - you will do awesome here. If you have any amount of ambition and character you will not survive. Toxic culture, backward looking, underwhelming place that will pretend to be something it is not.
