Pros

I love coffee but I had a very bad experience with one of the establishments. I suppose if you love coffee and customer service you might be a good fit.

Cons

I worked for a PJ's for 2 days. On the first day, the owner/manager seemed nice and appreciative that I was on time (actually early) for my 6am shift. At the end, however, I asked if she would mind if I took off a few days for an upcoming festival that I worked at the year before. I explained to her that since I was almost full-time at the coffee shop, I would only take off if she ok'd it,--just wanted to check. She not only denied my request, but was appalled that I would dare to even ask for a few days off after just starting a new job. The next day she was very rude, and sent me home early, after about 4 hours, telling me that I should wait to hear from her before coming back. A former boyfriend also worked at a different PJs and found out that the manager had been shaving off time from all of her employees. Hopefully things have improved over the last few years!

Pros

• Free drinks. • My coworkers are some of my best friends.

Cons

• got a series of emails asking me, a part-time employee earning just above louisiana minimum wage, to sign a petition AGAINST raising minimum wage? • Corporate is miserably bad at making decisions that in any way positively affect the company. They are constantly changing the menu and introducing new items that they force every store to buy in bulk, which then flop immediately. • Corporate does not care about its baristas. • Do not expect to work full time. I would consistently be scheduled 39 hours a week, every week, just because corporate insisted on no full-time employees. • Very little consistency between stores & very little oversight. • AVOID St. Tammany Parish Hospital location at all costs.

Pros

Cool coworkers, the christmas parties were fun.

Cons

Management was poor, our location had mold, dust, and dead bugs everywhere. Staff was usually under trained, and owners/management provided poor communication and feedback if any was given at all. Bosses had us work multiple days without a functioning bathroom in the store.
