Pros

There was not one good reason to work here other than visiting Chicago, the expensive dinners, and the large beautiful offices over looking Lake Michigan.

Cons

SR Leadership continues to make upper 6 figure salaries and bonuses, while the field teams and other employees struggle to make ends meet. They earn all the money, high salaries, car allowances, drive BMWs, and still do not pay for their health insurance. Why does this happen and make sense? Because they are in the Pay Day loan and check cashing industry and this is their livelihood. In reality, they can't even state what PLS really means without lying about it. PLS stands for Pay Day Loan Store, nothing more. It too embarrassing to state and let the people really know what industry they represent. People, Location, Service? Let's get the true message out. Leadership is happy to take from the poor to fill their own pockets. I'm sure the CFPB is prepared to present their fines and rightfully so. Stop stealing from the unfortunate. They deserve better. Stop charging the highest interest rates, "repoing" cars ( how do you expect people to get to work to pay your high fees?) and stop believing your company is doing what's right for the people. Leadership continues to hurt people daily and will continue until the government shuts their type of legalized "loan sharking" down. Please hurry so they cannot hurt another family.

Pros

Intentions seem on track. I believe they want to be leading edge and innovative. There are great people in the stores.

Cons

Leadership team reminds me of a group of frat boys. They talk about the importance of diversity, yet there is no diversity on the senior team. I'm still trying to understand why the COO has a job. He has no clue of what a good COO does and I believe the owners are clueless of this position too. If the company is not performing, it's his fault, period. Words like "corporate" are forbidden and replaced by "support center". Ironically, this corporate office is by far the worst supportive group I have experienced in the past twenty years and with 4 different companies.

Pros

They donate a tree for every employee they employ on Arbor Day. We plant trees because we need the paper. Voted "5000 Fastest Growing Companies in America" and "Chicago's 101 Best and Brightest Companies to work for".

Cons

PLS Financial received this prestigious award for 2008, 2009 and 2010, HELLO.... THIS IS 2014 what were you doing right four years ago? There is absolutely no respect for the field leadership team regardless of how many hours we put it. The Senior Leadership team does not genuinely have our best interests at heart and it is difficult to trust them. They are not grateful for our performance efforts (especially if EBITDA is not positive) and they always are attempting to squeeze every bit of effort they can out of you, this will cause you to not trust that they have intentions to be more efficient, resourceful and collaborative (poor technology comes to mind). Leadership does not effectively "touch the business" they visit because they have too and when they do, they come with sharp tongues, they don't speak to the DM prior to the store visit, they rely on the ineffective DO's to give them the full picture in a two day span. Talk to your leadership teams who really role up their sleeves and try in earnest to make money for the Company. PLS is not a box of chocolates.
