The worst company I've ever worked for

Pros

You can put in minimal effort for what you do here and you may make a few friends with the ever changing employees.

Cons

What's worse than having zero transparency from upper management? Being lied to by upper management. If you want to learn the wrong ways to run a company, then this is the place for you. There is no company culture and no proper management. There are leaders and there are those who lead. There are no leaders in this company, but I assure you, upper management is leading this company down the drain. They squeeze any money they can out of prospects and fail to return a product that works well. The only thing upper management cares about is money. They are con-artists! They do not care for their employees. Employees turnover like hot cakes, someone is quitting almost every month. Calls from debt collectors and ex-employees requesting payment and correct w2's is a norm and messages passed to upper management are often ignored and replied with lies. Many employees have not received their last paycheck. If you do end up working here, do not give a notice when you resign! Unless you are unemployed, desperate, bored or just want to put something on your resume, DO NOT work here! You will be paid your salary (maybe) although never on time and you will have the option to have health insurance after 90 days and very minimal vacation days. Hours are 9am -6pm. Anything else they offer is a lie!

Pros

There is nothing positive to say about POP-Market (Also known as Global Apparel Network) other than the location and look of the office. Do not be fooled by the attractive space, this company will suck the life out of you.

Cons

Employees are expected to maintain positive attitudes although they are treated poorly by management. Never paid on time. Promised equity in the company and healthcare (both noted in offer letter) and neither were ever provided. Culture is uncomfortable. Management has major lack of knowledge in fashion industry & software. Motivation to be successful is not exuded by management.

Warning to all...(aka Global Apparel Network)

Pros

The benchmark is so low that there is not a huge effort involved in working at this company.

Cons

I would like to issue a warning to anyone considering joining this company not to do so unless you are unemployed, desperate, and can afford to take the risk of potentially not getting paid. This is a failing and unprofitable company. There are constant phone calls to the office from various vendors to collect on rent, internet services, even investors!!. Management is known for writing bad checks and not paying the staff on time. While I was there, this was a regular occurrence but something that we really had no choice but to deal with if we did want to get paid. Just look at the other reviews. All of the in-office staff from 2014 is no longer with the company. The only people that have not left within the year are the ones that work from home because they have nothing to lose. We also heard that old employees did not receive their W2s on time and some had errors. Management focus seems to be on investors to the point of obsession. These investors are the ones that make it possible for him to pay his staff and operating expenses. The question is: why have these people been investing in a company that has yet to turn a profit or a return? When the often-absent management actually shows up to the office, they sit on their own with closed doors and are completely disengaged from the staff. It seems like they just show up only to ensure that people appear to be working since they are incredible stingy and adamant that the office hours end at 6pm. They micromanage and stifles everyone with bizzare OCD tendencies such as demanding that the radio is kept on all day so that the staff does not hear their in-office conversations, asking people to put away their snacks, and to only use white post-its. The Department of Labor even showed up a couple of times to address complaints from former employees! These guys are old pros, typical con-artists and just plain dishonest people. Additionally, they do not deactivate email addresses of former employees and continue to correspond using those emails which is very disturbing and scary. DO NOT leave a steady job to join this place because you will be sorry. The only Benefits are just medical after 90 days with no Vision or Dental. No 401k option. Vacation is minimal. The company will only observe some of the national holidays and you will not get paid if you give notice. I already had an idea of this so it wasn't a huge deal for me but upsetting , nonetheless.
