Pros
I've been working at the company for roughly two years now, and overall, it has been an extremely positive experience. This is also the very first time I’ve worked in a position for a company that is fully remote. Despite the physical distance amongst staff, I feel that our company does a great job to maintain a supportive culture and commitment to excellence.
One of the defining strengths of working at PRC Medical is its team-based organizational structure. The company is divided into many teams, each with its own unique focus and expertise, contributing to our dynamic and collaborative work environment. Each team plays a vital role in achieving the company's overarching goals and objectives. While each team has its own responsibilities, there's a strong culture of teamwork and cooperation across departments.
PRC Medical also understands the importance of work-life balance, especially in a remote work environment. The company offers flexible scheduling options, allowing employees to tailor their work hours to fit their personal commitments. This flexibility has been invaluable in helping me maintain a healthy balance between work and life responsibilities. Many of the people at the company have families and children. If this is something you care about personally, I would say that it is an excellent feeling to work with such hard working people that are incredibly family oriented.
As a manager, every day looks different but I can say confidentally that a large part of my daily work is to provide clear direction to my team, empower team members to take ownership of their work, and also encourage open communication and feedback with one another. I would say that my leadership style and work ethic is right in line with my other colleagues at the company. I firmly believe that our employees are constantly working to create a positive and inclusive work environment where everyone feels valued and motivated to excel. I feel grateful for the opportunity to be part of this company.
Cons
On occasion, working in a fully remote environment can present its set of challenges. In this type of environment, you really need to be willing to put yourself out there on a daily basis to get your questions answered and have your voice heard. Learning to navigate communication styles and preferences among my colleagues has been a very important focus of mine while working in this role.
