Company is held back by dysfunctional senior management

Pros

The organization has a great mission to create jobs for people with disabilities. There is vast untapped potential to solidify the future of the company.

Cons

Senior Management doesn't lead. Instead, they thrive on dysfunction and acrimony, tending to take care of themselves and their personal agendas at the expense of the rank and file employees. It's all about Pride politics and playing the game. If you offend certain members of the Senior Management team, you'll be isolated, marginalized and effectively nullified, regardless of your accomplishments. If you are one of the favored few, your incompetence is overlooked. Many in the Company's middle management are paralyzed by fear. They fear offending certain members of the Senior Management team, so important issues are often buried until they manifest as crisis situations. Senior Management is not committed to the well being of its employees. It expects employees to work without wage increases for infinite periods of time, yet awards itself generous raises and bonuses on an annual basis. It also decided to acquire a corporate jet, which is an exorbitant luxury item. Meanwhile, employees are expected to work for below market wages with no hope of a wage increase. Some employees have attempted to better themselves by pursuing MBA degrees at their own expense, only to have Senior Management refuse to define appropriate career paths. These employees are then forced to leave the Company when they clearly have potential to make the Company better. New hires in key positions are often shocked at the level of hostility and obstruction they encounter when attempting to do their jobs. They are forced to endure the hostility because Senior Management refuses to set the proper tone, choosing instead to indulge in the protection of personal agendas. Rather than encourage open mindedness and collaboration, an environment of competing priorities and hubris is allowed to flourish. This erodes the confidence of key employees and leads to disengagement.

Going downhill fast

Pros

Employees are dedicated and work harder than they should for such low compensation.

Cons

Ever since the original CEO passed away, this company went from caring about its mission to using the mission as simply a baited hook to get more $. You pay us hourly workers next to nothing and then have the nerve to ask us to donate through our paychecks?? Ask to see where your donation dollars went. Ask for any reporting of any kind.

Pros

Easy Easy Easy work, the most difficult part of the job is avoidng being sucked into different personality conflicts. I have never once been asked or required to complete a task that was NOT listed under the job description listed when I applied for this job.

Cons

It seems to me that the employees tend to use their disabilities in their favor or as a cop out when they don't feel like working. Which forces the rest of us to pick up their slack, causing us to feel over worked, under appreciated, and a bit of resentment builds, etc
