Pros

Pay per piece, which can range between minimum wage and around 30$/hr depending on ability and time of year (different jobs throughout the year) Seasonal work makes travelling easy Happy and kind staff, it feels like a very team mentality. Management at this time is amazing, very reasonable and fair. I personally love the opportunity to work outdoors with nature. In the winter months we do have the option to work inside too. During the spring we use golf carts to get around the property and that can be fun too. You even get benifits through the union after you meet criteria! Very culturally accepting environment as well. Good for someone on a work Visa.

Cons

Seasonal, if your looking for a year round stable job. Although it's only about 5 months of the year where seasonal work isn't offered in some form from the company (not necessarily in just vernon) Piece rate may be a downfall if you aren't yet skilled in certain ways such as physical fitness, or for the summer months while thinning, mental agility and dexterity. Outside temperatures. Some mornings are ice cold, and during the summer I was arriving to start thinning for the day at 5 am, 2 hours sooner than expected, to beat the heat as it gets unbelievably hot in the day. Got a lot of bruises from accidentally walking into steal beams in the spring but that's a force that can be wreckened with easily, I believe. it happens. Often it can take some adjusting to the pace when your new, but given a few months, or often alot less time, your muscle memory will have your back and you'll become natural at it. With the seasonal positions, you sometimes wont work consecutively enough to make the union, as in for a span longer than 3 month before layoff. but I believe it will start after 3 months in the summer if you take all earning opportunities.

Pros

Great staff and great pay depending on the day. Piecework.

Cons

Company controls how many "pieces" u get each day so wage depends on your supervisor. Nightshift makes less money and no compensation for working nights
