Pros

DOP for Arkansas Region is very understanding for family emergencies. When your branch is Staffed and safe, it's an easy job. Getting to know UP crew members and management.

Cons

If you happen to have a few preventable accidents, such as scraping poles or Un reported damage, corporate looks at you as the "reason why" It couldn't possibly be that you pay drivers $9.25 per hour and expect them to make safe decisions with a vehicle that is not their own. All drivers are disgruntled. I don't blame them, pay them more! PTI owes drivers money from 2016. It's still in arbitration. Ron Romain himself said they pay the drivers what they are worth. If you do not perform well under extreme amounts of stress, this job is not for you. Drivers hate you, vendors hate you because PTI fleet never pays them. When a van goes down, it will take weeks to get back in service. New people in payroll in Evansville every week screwing up drivers pay, which gets blamed on local management. There is no balance between home and life. The branch needs will consume you.

Pros

There are no 'pros' to this company. They are liars, thieves, and greedy. They agreed to a 1.5% pay increase through our United Steelworkers Union 1-1/2 years ago, then reneged on it within 2 weeks of agreeing to it. They then agreed to abide by an arbitrator's decision on the contract which took a year and a half to complete. Upon the finding by the arbitrator that they were to pay the 1-1/2% wage increase agreed to previously, they were directed to pay all employees retroactively to the original contract agreement date monies owed to them in back wages. The company refused and filed an appeal, which is still in litigation. The Union now must file a counter lawsuit which will be for both actual damages, punitive damages, plus interest and plus the cost of the litigation. Once the Union wins, (and they will) the amount of money the company owes employees will effectively almost double. The company is already nearing bankruptcy after losing a major transportation contract with the 2nd largest railroad company int the United States. By the time the litigation is finished, they will probably not be able to pay the judgement against them because of a lack of funds and bankruptcy protection. You would have to be a masochist to want to work for these con artists.

Cons

Long hours, sporadic hours, no time with your family. Working hours are mostly at night. Their bookkeeping department located in Evansville, Indiana is known for gross mismanagement and cheating employees out of wages. In the states if Idaho and Washington alone, they are on these states' Departments of Employment's list of the most complaints by employees for payroll abuse disputes. I would not be surprised if this is true in every state in which they operate. I would not recommend this company to ANYONE, no matter how desperate they are for a job. You would be better off flipping burgers and french fries at McDonald's than working for this company.

Pros

I have to fill this space with 20 words. Otherwise, I’d just put NOTHING because there’s are no pros to this job.

Cons

I could go on and on and on about how crappy this job is. Do not apply to work here. Do not apply to work here unless you plan on being married to this job. You work 365 days a year every hour of every day and I am not exaggerating. I absolutely hate this job. The upper management is rude and unprofessional. The driver pay is garbage. And there is no guarantee of getting call for a trip. You’ll do better at Burger King or McDonald’s or honestly, janitorial work. Do not apply for this job. If you’ve ever thought about being a branch manager for PTI, don’t!!! It’s not worth it. I am not pulling your leg here! If you value your family, your friends and yourself do not do this. You will have no time for yourself your family or your friends. The expectation is that you are glued to your phone and watching the boards every day all day, answering phone calls all day long, moving vehicles all day long and there are no exceptions to these rules.
