I had high hopes when I joined Pacific Grove Hospital, but my experience here has been extremely disappointing. The management is disorganized and unresponsive to staff concerns. They frequently make last-minute schedule changes, often without any notice, making it impossible to plan your life outside of work.
The nurse-to-patient ratios are dangerously high, leading to burnout and a stressful work environment. This compromises the quality of care we can provide, and patient safety seems to be a secondary concern to management. Additionally, there is a severe lack of support from the administrative team. When issues arise, such as equipment failures or supply shortages, they are slow to respond, if they respond at all.
The morale among the nursing staff is low, and there is little to no effort from leadership to improve working conditions. The hospital also offers minimal opportunities for professional growth or continuing education, which is frustrating for those looking to advance their careers.
Overall, I would not recommend working at Pacific Grove Hospital. The stress, lack of support, and poor management have made this one of the worst places I have ever worked as a nurse.
