Pros

The area is very picturesque in a upper middle class neighborhood. Students come from very affluent families with tuition bring among highest in south Florida area.

Cons

Most employees need to commute far because this is not an area most teachers and lower office staff can afford with their salaries. Employees vehicles reflect their paychecks; the teachers and office assistants have old models of Japanese cars while upper leadership have luxury cars showing us the large disparity in salaries. Teachers have their children’s tuitions covered. Breakfast and lunch is covered. Insurance is good if needed. Employees are sufficiently polite for the most part, every now and then certain people express political opinions or ideology and disparage those who think differently, including their colleagues or the families of students which shows a lack of inclusion and respect. Faculty have free range what to teach without too much micromanagement. Staff will have less flexibility and less autonomy as they are under the discretion of individual bosses.

Pros

Classroom management is easy. Students are generally well-behaved and motivated. Colleagues are supportive and very competent. A collaborative environment is encouraged. In general, the community is supportive and positive.

Cons

You might report to three separate people. It's sometimes confusing as to whom you should report to for what. Management is conflict avoidant and almost always sides with parents to the detriment of the teacher. There are also way too many responsibilities. You're a teacher with 4-5 courses and you're an adviser. You're also required to do lunch duty once every 7 days and to sub 4 times a semester for colleagues. It's a meeting heavy culture as well. The time you think you'd have to do the actual work like lesson plan and grade, you spend in long winded meetings that yield few tangible results.
