Pros

+ Panasonic is a good pro-people corporation founded by man with pure love in his heart + There are some signs of self-reflection and continuous search for improvement + You can meet very talented people there

Cons

- Do NOT accept conditional benefits like sign on bonuses or relocation reimbursement. You may discover that this is not your place and waiting for a year or more would be very difficult to bare with - Top Executives are significantly unqualified for leading or/and managing technology development operations - Understaffed and insufficiently experienced middle management layer that is dealing with software engineering. One-band man managers make wrong decisions that multiply effort and collide cross-functional teams intensifying tensions and lowering productivity - Work-life balance is absent across almost functions and levels - Passive aggressive leadership style is common - Office space is outdated, limited, noisy, districting and unfit for productive and efficient software engineering

Pros

1. Great Founder’s principle 2. Panasonic brand recognition and reputation 3. Panasonic parent organization has wide range of products and industry coverage

Cons

1. It’s a traditional organization with some tyrants, bureaucrats, and bullies in the management team. The good people in the management team just remain silent to protect themselves and their position. 2. There isn’t variety of products in the automotive division to provide challenging and interesting work. 3. Promotions are based on positive relationship with management and nothing else. If you are neutral without opinions then chances of your growth is high. Achievements are not recognized with promotions. 4. The organization focuses on low cost resources who they want to develop in-house but doesn’t value experienced professional and continuously tries to cut down cost by reducing the skilled workforce. 5. If you question the management then you may be forced to quit.

Pros

None. This place is dysfunctional, and the location is bad on top of that.

Cons

No work-to-life-balance. You will be on call from 8-5pm, but that does not include Germany or Japan which means that you will have Email 24 hours a day. Everything is out-sourced with no budget (really???), and the most incompetent people are put in a position that is laughable. Mechanical and Supplier Quality Engineers are put in place of SOFTWARE ENGINEERS who have no clue as to what is going on.... I could go on and on, but my advice is to not work here if you are a true Software Engineer. The product is pure software, but the management is living 20 years ago with no experience. Hiring people from Supplier Quality to be put in charge is a HUGE MISTAKE.
