Pros

Above market salary. The product is great and really has an impact. We get lots of feedback and great stories from users about how it has changed their lives. We have/had a really great engineering and product team. Fully flexible working hours and remote working. Good work/life balance.

Cons

The company was amazing but has lost its way. Company benefits have been cut. We only have fitness subsidiary now which given a pandemic.. not that useful. No Friday lunches on the company anymore. In the past year 15 people have left, including 2 C-suite and our third HR. In the past two weeks 3 people have quit. Management says this is part of being a start up and preparing for Series A. Management say they are transparent and welcome feedback but keep making company wide decisions without consultation and giving feedback is career limiting. The new CTO wasn't interviewed by anybody for the position and in the past month has: - pushed out the previous engineering managers - made himself the technical lead on both apps - hired his mates into the company and completely ignored any feedback given from interviews The new CTOs approach is very much micromanagement, expects people to do as they are told and doesn't turn up to meetings or retro. Engineering is treated like an agency. Most of the women and LGBT colleagues have left. It is very much a bro culture and who can be the most dominant now.

Pros

Great product with incredible potential impact for the healthcare sector. The teams are full of incredibly talented individuals working at the company. Mid to low level employees are very hard working and a pleasure to work with.

Cons

Leadership team don’t listen and don’t care they just nod and smile and don’t care. Toxic internal environment, last few good employees left but many are likely to leave soon too, it’s just a matter of time. Well funded startup but money is being wasted left right and centre, not sure what the VC’s are thinking.

Pros

Impactful mission, lots of examples of the product helping NHS staff during the pandemic. Ownership of work and freedom. Capable people are promoted even if junior. New leadership brought in have changed culture and direction for the better. Those unhappy with leadership changes have mostly left now, which means the atmosphere is more healthy and positive. Growing rapidly, new team members bringing energy. Previous frustrations were lack of career progression, and team members not delivering still being kept in post. New leadership team have addressed these, and listen. Clear vision for the next 12 months. New hires are skilled, standards are being driven up.

Cons

Past 12 months have been tough. Pivots, trying new directions and losing large parts of leadership team have been attritional.
