Pros

Great teammates - learnt a lot from them. Used to have good, honest senior management. International sales meeting was awesome. Good product. Culture used to be great.

Cons

Things changed fast when K1 entered the picture. Had 4 different managers in 1.5 years . Poor communication from new management, clearly disconnected from employees. Limited growth opportunities. Future doesn’t look good.

Great to get feedback on the International Sales meeting and about our products , thanks for posting that! The company is changing and it is hard to have that many new leaders. With all the changes, communication must be increased…we agree. Thank you for your comments on your feelings of limited growth opportunities, please bring these forward to your leader so we can make a plan together.

Pros

- The product was built by a group of amazingly talented people for roughly 13 years. - Working on a product that provides a huge positive impact in the education space. - Fully remote work.

Cons

- Ever since K1 took over the company has been squeezed for maximum profit. - Almost 100% of C-suite and VP turnover since K1 acquisition. - Most senior technical leadership has left. - Direct managers get no say or are ignored on compensation increases, bonuses, and promotions. Decisions come from upper management. - Switched to "Unlimited PTO" and laid off a large chunk of people at the start of the next year. - Teams are not warned before layoffs leaving no time for knowledge transfer, huge knowledge gaps exist in current employment roster. - Talent is not getting replaced. When it is replaced it is with junior developers getting underpaid and overworked. - Product development is mostly in reactive mode right now, with little to no new feature development happening. - Employee focused benefits package eroded to bare minimum. - Upper management is either terrible at communicating or is being purposefully misleading and deceptive.

We acknowledge that there have been many changes recently and change is always difficult. We love the product too and are excited to build and grow on the foundation that the prior leadership team put in place. As with many companies in this market, cost pressures are present and in order to be the best stewards for our employees and stakeholders, we must react quickly. We know that by being proactive, we put ourselves in a financial place to accelerate our growth opportunities which means more growth and development opportunities for employees. The newly formed Executive Leadership Team is excited to partner with employees to understand how we can continue to get better each day. While we don't like that this was your experience, we are committed as a leadership team to addressing employee concerns quickly in a transparent and fair manner. Thank you for your feedback so we can use it to improve the employee experience at Panopto. with gratitude, VP People & Culture Panopto

Pros

- Fully remote work - A product that helps people - Some of the people who made this company great have not left/been forced out yet

Cons

- The amazing culture that Panopto had fostered has has been dismantled and replaced with some of the worst examples of modern business practices - Erosion of what once was a progressive benefits package - Leadership is inexperienced, bad at communication, lacks transparency, and it shows/has daily impacts at all levels - Leadership is willing to deceive its employees in order to manipulate them

Thank you for sharing your experience. We also acknowledge and love being a remote first organization and believe this allows employees a level to flexibility that ensures strong work-life balance. While I am sorry that this was your experience, it is important to acknowledge there are many inaccuracies in your statements. Panopto is committed to ensuring a culture of listening, transparency, trust, engagement and a market differentiating benefits package. We know this is a journey and we always have room to improve. We appreciate feedback that allows us to improve the employee experience at Panopto. with gratitude, VP People & Culture Panopto
