Pros

Some coworkers are kind and try to help each other. The company has been around a long time, so it may look stable from the outside.

Cons

There is no job security. Layoffs happen often. This makes people feel stressed and unsafe at work. They laid off a big group of people at the same time in a one room in the middle of a work day. Leadership is very defensive and nervous. Everyone is in hysterics all the time. Warehouse coworkers even feel it. Communication is poor, and decisions are often unclear. The company is constantly changing direction and contradicting themselves. The president is related to the founder and focuses heavily on monitoring employees instead of leading the company. This creates a culture of fear, not trust. Every leader is fearful of him. Pay is low compared to the amount of work expected. Raises and promotions are rare. There are people who worked for more than 30+ years and they aren’t even leaders. I was with them for a long time and they never tried to help me grow. The company has been getting worse for more than ten years, and many systems and processes are outdated.

Pros

I was employed by paper mart for a few years. The management team at the time was very supportive. They really established an open door policy, if any issues were to arise they would be willing to help.

Cons

As I left a lot of changes were happening within the company. This meant a lot of miscommunication between managers, supervisors, and employees. Their policies were changing and no one had a straight forward answer, HR was even confused with certain policies. Hopefully by now they have worked through their confusion.
