Pros

The colleagues are friendly and nice.

Cons

The culture is difficult to adjust with as the higher management micromanages almost everything. There is no space for sharing ideas and thoughts. The process is laid in stone and changing anything in the process is not encouraged. The concept of personal space does not exist as you are expected to work like a mule (24x5) and working on the weekends is a nice to have for the management. There is a huge fuss on imbibing the cultures and the values but none of it is followed. There is no respect for an individual as a human being as the higher management uses ruthless language almost as if the employees are their slaves. Nobody dares to speak up in front of the management and the atmosphere is very depressing. Independent work culture is not encouraged, the management bites back if they are not aware of even a single aspect of an employee's work schedule. The timesheet filling process is the most depressing of all, one needs to enter the details of every single minute.

Thank you for your feedback and appreciate the insights. Our goal at PaperPlane is to create a work culture and promote values like personal responsibility, transparency, achievement, and pride in the work each of us does, individually, and collectively. We encourage each PaperPlaner to develop a drive to do better the next day, every day! Similarly, we will take these insights and introspect on how to avoid such an experience for current and future PaperPlaners. Our design and agile development process is structured to promote predictability, quality, and good communication through the project lifecycle. This process has evolved over the past decade as we shifted our focus to work with global brands. There is always room to improve and we welcome change - it is the one thing [aside from death and taxes] that is certain! :) We recognise that we failed to provide you with the freedom in which you could flourish and we apologise for that. Wishing you well as you develop your career.

Pros

Got to work directly with the CEO. Got to work the latest technologies.

Cons

The office environment is too strict. People work constantly without breaks. The boss here, is really a boss, and not a good leader. He is short-tempered, and the entire office does remain scared of him. This is not really an IT firm. There is a lot of silence expected, and its like everyone is being watched. If one leaves before a year, they deduct almost an entire month of salary, naming as "Training Charges"; which is really unfair, because in a year, the person did contribute to the organization using that same "Training".

We feel terrible that you left PaperPlane with this opinion. Our goal is to promote a culture of creative excellence, integrity, and achievement, to foster individual growth and pride in the work we do. You are right, we are not the typical IT firm, nor do we aspire to be. Our focus is to provide high-quality User Experience Design/Development services to our global clients. This pushes us towards a culture of hard work, high performance, sound ethics and personal achievement. We thank you for taking the time to highlight areas in which to improve as we reflect on your comments. Available for further discussion if you would like.
