Pros

If you are looking for a company that works with special needs clients that has their heart in the right place this is for you. You get to meet so many different types of clients and are exposed to different environments that will make you feel empathetic toward these families and kids.

Cons

Where do I even begin? -Extremely stressful on the ABA therapists to make notes and hours up when clients and families would be late constantly but it was on the therapist to make up for the loss time. -Long hours at not only the client's homes when some I felt did not need 3 hours of work, that is a long time for a child much less a special needs child, to be placed with demand after demand. -The people above the ABA therapist were not helpful, they would come and tell you what you were doing wrong and then model it for you but if it was not exactly how it was written out, then it did not count and had to be done all over again. -No work / life balance. Everyone that I worked with no one was married, had kids, had pets, outside hobbies. So of course they did not mind putting in over 40 hours a week even though we were getting paid salary, not hourly. I kept track one week and I work 60 hours but only got paid for 40.

Pros

Paragon Autism Services is unlike any other ABA agency! Even while doing in-home sessions, you don't feel like you are on your own. Weekly team meetings allow Behavior Specialist to collaborate with their peers and express questions and concerns to their supervisors. The company is organized into small teams that are led by board certified staff (BCaBA or BCBA) which allows regular and hands on supervision of staff and clients. The owners and directors take an interest in your professional and educational goals and provide you with the necessary resources to achieve them. They encourage continuing education and prefer to promote from within. The company’s consistent schedules and outstanding organization diminish scheduling confusion and ensure that all clients receive top notch, ethical services!

Cons

The cons at Paragon Autism Services are ones that are consistent within the field of ABA: evening hours, sometimes lengthy commutes between clients, etc. However, Paragon Autism Services does a great job trying to minimize these cons by being upfront about the hours, providing consistent schedules, and calculating commute times.

Pros

Paragon offers a stable paycheck which is uncommon for this line of work. Depending on the team you are on it could be a fun place to work or hell. The birthday cake for everyone's birthday is nice. They are closed for a week in July

Cons

Time consuming. You have no life with this job. You only have 5 vacation days a year outside of that week in July. However those 5 vacation days count as sick leave as well. Burnout and stress with this job is high and management does not care. There is no weather policy so be prepared to drive in icy and snowy conditions.
