This pay percentage is sadly not anywhere near comparable to other corporate dealerships I have been employed with pre-covid/pre-inflation or enough to catch up with the post covid/inflation rate that is also sadly not temporary. Almost all staff drive 30-1 hour or more to be able to get to work (because there is a lack of finding better employment). 1-2 extra hours a day, 5-10 hours a week that will likely be stressful I26 traffic. The reason you have to drive an hour is to be able to afford to find a decently priced home. Rent is unable to be found anywhere near Asheville/Hendersonville for under 2k a month for ANY sized home. Homes are commonly not found for under 300k unless considerable repair is needed. Interest rates 6-8% commonly. Finding a car to buy, energy, food, LIFE is up in prices that are seriously making it impossible to make ends meet for a family like myself unless both parents work full time. Then you pay incredibly for insurance you're scared to use because you still pay out the nose at the doctor. Don't forget all the child care to watch other people raise your children. All while I feel one of the privileged few to know I am actually very successful as an advisor, but no financial gains or savings to show for it. Staff are able to handle the jobs they are tasked, however like most auto service centers, done with just enough staff to get by.
