      Amazing team delivering game changing products

      Pros

      * The Partly team is a tight-nit group of exceptional and awesome people. * The company has strong values and an early focus on company culture to prevent the culture rot that other tech companies face. * There is heaps of opportunity to work on and massively ambitious and rewarding projects. * The company has huge potential (bigger than any other NZ tech company by far) and is growing super fast - this translates to a very lucrative equity scheme and amazing career growth opportunity * You don't have to live in Auckland ;) * Dumb lunchtime conversations

      Cons

      * The startup environment can be hectic, so only suits self-starters * Expectations are high for people to perform, no passengers or heel-draggers on this rocket ship

      Fast Pace and Difficult Problems to Solve

      Pros

      Very uncompromising hiring policy means a very strong team, with world class talent and a very strong set of cultures and values. The tech is on the sharp edge, There is a real bias towards performance - within reason, we get tools we need to be productive, and a lot of freedom of choice. Very nice office space, in a good part of town. It is transitioning out of startup zone so still has some of the benefits of a startup (blank slates, freedom etc) without the funding worries. There is definitely scope to grow into a role or define your own role at the moment, although if you are looking for strictly defined career paths and career management, that isn't here.

      Cons

      The same uncompromising policy on hiring, means that it's very hard to fill positions rapidly enough, and it results in a fair bit of hustle. Being a start up very big promises are made, to build market share (and just the fact that the problem Partly solves is very difficult) which means there can be a lot of 'skin of teeth' moments. It's not for the faint-hearted or inflexible. Most of the customers are overseas, any customer facing positions are likely to be expected to be available outside of normal office hours.

      - Some of the most talented engineers I've ever worked with - Management genuinely cares about employee wellbeing - Great core values - Excellent team dynamics - Thorough planning and agile approach to ongoing development - Excellent support for remote staff - Ambitious goals - Near zero staff turnover

      Cons

      - Career development paths are a little unclear - Some aspects of the legacy codebase can be a bit overcomplicated, in my opinion
