Pros

Pastini offers it management employees free food and competitive benefits. Also typically the in store management teams are very supportive of each other.

Cons

Pastini does not treat any of it's employees with respect. It doesn't matter what you achieve or how well you do your job upper management including Operations, HR, and the CEO only comment on areas that need improvement. The "Executive Leadership Team", as they call themselves, are always looking for something you have done wrong. I requested my file after I quit and found copies of e-mails from one ELT member to another suggesting I was breaking policies, this was not true nor did anyone approach me in regards to this. There is no transparency it was as if they were making a bogus case against me. HR pretended to care about situations that I brought to their attention. It was made clear that our discussions were to remain confidential but somehow my direct supervisor, the one I had concerns about, new details of my HR confidential discussions. Respect and trust have to be earned is something this company preaches yet my direct supervisor demanded it. I was asked to do things that were ethically wrong and when I refused I was retaliated against. I would not wish a job with this company on my worst enemy.

Pros

Pastini Pastaria offers great health benefits and above average salary. As part of the management team you are given a number of awesome benefits.

Cons

Where to start?!?! The training process is incredibly unorganized and full of holes. There is no follow up on how the process is going by the leadership team and completely left in the hands of the GM or AGM who more than likely received poor training themselves. Most training material is outdated and redundant. There is an overall feeling of the executive team looking for you to fail. Negative or opportunistic feedback is constant, whereas celebration of success or general positive feedbackis incredibly sparse. At pastini, we encouraged the customer to fill out comment cards where 98% of the feedback is positive. The leadership team would only ever mention the negative. Same with any social media received. In my time at pastini, there were many, many talented managers brought into the company and one by one were forced to leave due to the negative overall feeling that you have when you work at pastini. There is no one in the company to ask for advice or report issues. The HR department is intertwined with the executive team and does not feel like a safe place. I had incredibly high hopes for a fun, exciting restaurant experience when coming to pastini. The times when I was able to just do my job and not worry about the leadership team coming in and ripping everything apart was actually a lot of fun. But from the owner to the majority of the leadership, those times were few and far between.

Pros

Being a food industry job, it seems to have a fairly predictable expectation for tips to be made. Being a smaller company helps to eliminate some of the need to be a robot. They do seem to want to promote from within.

Cons

Company values are often talked about and thrown around as if they mean any thing, then quickly disregarded. Management is switched so often, there is very little stability for schedules and expectations are changed with each coming and going of management switch. This happens so often it's commonly called "Pastini Shuffle" where management is shuffled around from location to location with some secret higher corporate agenda
