Pros

Co-workers are great, team work between MHT's and nurses was great,

Cons

Management could care less about you, HR took favorites, staffing was HORRIBLE, want time off? forget it. Want a raise? forget it.

Pros

Like I said the only thing keeping you coming back is the patients. I guess if you are trying to get into a masters in the mental health field it would look good on your resume.

Cons

Care very little about employees, very high turnover rate because they just don't care for who they already have. The pay is terrible for what you are expected to do and after working there for almost two years, I have seen the place go way down hill. There seems to be a lot of politics and ridiculous rules that, in my mind takes away from patient care. Management has no trust in employees and treat them like they are not capable of making good decisions and sound judgement. It's even worse when pay is so little and you never get raises.

Pros

For CNA/MHT positions, not much Pro to comment on. It will give you face to face interaction with people in emotional/mental health crisis, and give you a good foundation for clinical therapy and counseling in the future if you intend to get an LCSW, LPC, or other counseling degree and license.

Cons

The turnover rate here makes staff seem treated as inventory. Some staff may not warm up to new hires due to the "here today, gone tomorrow" pattern. There is no education about patient disorders and their diagnosis for helping CNA/MHTs learn more about mental health treatment.
