Pros

-Insight & exposure into the Hospitality & Hotels Business -Opportunity to try many of the restaurants

-Poor treatment / no respect or recognition for hard work -Verbally abused regularly -Never thanked or recognized for going above and beyond -Strange working hours -Strange family dynamics with working for a family run business -Dealt with sexual harassment -Did tasks that were out of my job description - for example: The Owner of Pearle forced me work in a building / construction zone and scrub floors / clean up after the construction workers in order to allow students to move into the building. I had my lungs filled with debreigh and felt extremely unsafe being around the construction workers. As a 26 year old young women, I found this crazy that I was being asked to do this - I was an Executive Assistant...why was I asked to do this? I was often alone in this building and felt extremely nervous and unsafe...and experienced harassment from the workers daily. I was there for 3 whole weeks scrubbing floors, handing out cleaning supplies. No to mention I had to run up and down 21 flights of stairs. -After everything I did...I was fired without cause as they "no longer needed me anymore". This was a massive slap in the face after everything I did for the Owner Aaron Ciancone and his CFO Jocelyn Maurice. I will never forget the abuse I was put through.

The non-management employees at this company always stand by one another.

Cons

Company continuously allows employees to work in a toxic and non-positive environment, which has affected their mental well being. This behavior limits people to perform to the best of their ability. We as a team should be uplifting one another however, as the weeks, months and days go by the negativity and bullying behavior does not stop. The company strives on being hospitable and to treat colleagues and superiors with utmost respect however employees in the Special Event Department in the KW area come into work in living in fear from their manager. The staff that works at these properties loves their jobs, they love the client relationships and the work itself. The heart breaking part is they come into work to be verbally harassed and put down on a daily basis which is not healthy for anyone to have to endure. It is my opinion that a person should feel safe and comfortable in their work environment. Unfortunately for myself and for others this is not the case. With Mental Health being so prevalent in today's society it is important that we lift people up not bring them down.
