Pros

I really enjoyed the technical challenge, and loved the people I was working with. The company is successful with its customers. The atmosphere is a little childish and clique-esqe, but mostly positive and uplifting,

Cons

One day I was called in for a meeting where they told my I was not doing my job well enough, and they are considering the next steps. A week later I was already fired. After that happend, I started to ask around and I learned that everyone who left abruptly before me was going through the exact same trick. They call you in, say a bunch of nonsense, gaslight you when you try to understand what's happening, make up lies about you to tarnish your good name(!!), then let you go. People are obviously scared to speak up, but this is happening at Pecan, regularly.

Beware of this company if you're a North American Employee/Applicant

Pros

Good compensation and benefits, *some* great people with interesting backgrounds, potential travel opportunities, you will learn a lot about business and technical matters and how the two symbiotically relate, North American team is extremely sharp and business-savvy and I'm glad to have had the opportunity to learn from them

Cons

Be very careful to note where the positive reviews are coming from--the company has allegiance solely to its Israeli team. The negative reviews from non-Israeli employees are not subjective as they appear. They will have a few meetings with you saying your performance isn't going as hoped but will never provide concrete goals or gaps, even with explicit requests, and will then fire you without a performance plan or any warning (this has been done in a patterned manner over my 1.5 years at Pecan). The company has failed to meet its business goals for the last several quarters. Executive leadership (primarily the CTO and CEO) does not listen to suggestions if you are located outside of Israel and have fired people for recommending changes or implementations that should be made to the product, only to use those changes later. If you're in a technical role, beware the CTO as he will micromanage your role into the ground and claim you can't reach his expectations, without any specific reasons why. The product has a lot of potential, but leadership decisions, stubbornness, pride, and systemically ignoring and suppressing feedback keep it at a sub-par level compared to competitors' solutions. On top of this, it's a very complex, unintuitive product that has a steep learning curve that doesn't match well with its intended user base. The company claims to care for its employees, but when I brought up my cognitive disorder, it was dismissed as an "American" thing by team members. If you need accommodations for something like this, I can't imagine the company will provide them or provide a safe space to bring them up. Finally, I was terminated and still do not have a concrete, clear, specific reason why, despite asking the CTO *and* HR. I implemented any changes I was told to, with no feedback, and was still terminated. While legally this is allowed in an at-will state, just know that you maybe be told you've "failed" at your job, but may never know why or what to improve in your future endeavors.

Pros

There were very good vibes at the beginning, their CEO was fully on board with many good initiatives, however, after an organizational change, all of that seems to have gone.

Cons

Many redundant discussions about values, hiring decisions are often impulsed, good people after an organizational change somehow maneuvered to leave the company.
