DO NOT COME. All the negative comments are true and the positive ones… you can guess who most likely wrote them… look up what happened with the founder’s previous VC too.
Just a selected list of red flags for your reference:
- They “let go” of people with no notice, no feedback, nothing.
- Entry salary is 50k/60k+ and intern salary is CA minimum wage because they’re not willing to pay more. A LOT of favoritism (who can flatter superiors the most..) in salary and raises.
- Ethically and professionally questionable stuff happening in all aspects of the firm (HR policy, compliance, numbers with no clear sources; I’ve heard they even ask people to create fake profiles and emails to do a variety of things)
- Micromanaging & toxic and abusive work culture: make you clean and abuse junior people just because they’re junior by making you do very unreasonable and demeaning tasks and tasks outside of your job duties; there is still a trend of verbal abuse even after multiple complaints by employees.
Take your time to browse through LinkedIn, they have a lack of good backgrounds and a disastrous track record with retention, and that’s for a reason. No one who’s not really in desperate need of employment for visa reasons or a way to enter VC (and btw, working at Pegasus won’t help you jump to an Asso at another VC because you get a handful of deals done, if any, and their business model is not actual VC but more like a servicing model) would actually come here. Given the toxic workplace conducts & culture as well as 0 help with career progression (actually stagnates your career), make your decision wisely after lots of research.
