      Pros

      If you have a good house with good staff, you will enjoy the job. My first few homes weren’t very good. My supervisors at those places treated me poorly. However the house where I am now is wonderful. I absolutely love my supervisor and the other staff that I work with. The individuals are wonderful too.

      Upper management doesn’t communicate very well with you sometimes.

      The individuals that receive services are awesome.

      Cons

      Racism is a huge issue and instead of offering sensitivity training minorities are encouraged to be understanding of the ignorance from the caucasian employees.

      Pros

      You can make an immediate impact and positive change in someone's life that is long lasting and meaningful. Before the pandemic, the job seemed mainly hanging out with individuals and helping them live their best life.

      Cons

      Becoming too attached to the people who you support. The company itself ignores most requests for help and support for the workers and solely focus on the people being supported, making it difficult to properly support them as a well oiled working team. The pay leaves much to be desired The more valuable you are to the company, the more they put on you with no reward, and the more they expect of you .
