Pros

There are no pro's at all.

Cons

Toxic culture in relation to staff interactions led by senior leadership team. No care for welfare of staff unless it suits the company needs. Belittled and unsupported when reaching out for support and help. Lies told and investigation procedures shoddy to the point of being malpractice. Salaries dependent on if your face fits - as is the ability to progress. Appointment made and promotions given but not advertised. Some vacancies created for individuals who are not effective in their current role but because their face fits and they will do as instructed / told / demanded they keep their job. Policies not followed by SLT but enforced on other employees. Unspoken expectation to constantly work more hours than contracted for. They don't even pay the correct mileage rate for travel - doubt they have increased it since April. Controlling - no decision making or initiative supported for ideas. In all - not a company I can recommend in any way, shape or form - don't let the welcome fool you into thinking they care.

Pros

Brilliant colleagues - the only reason working becomes bearable.

Cons

Overworked and underpaid. The job description for the role requires THE most flexibility while at the lowest pay scale. The SSC is required to be familiar with 5 roles - engagement officer, Induction, ALN, Distance Learning and education admin. All roles have different functions and processes. They will not be doing all roles at the same time but when cover is needed (which happens unexpectedly with staff calling in sick), the SSC will have to just get things done, so they have to understand the functions/systems of all roles. The role screams anxiety.

Pros

Very supportive company, yearly pay rises. Working in prisons can be tough and the new contract is challenging. However mangers, Ops managers and the Directors for PES are so supportive. We have resources provided for us to adapt and use. Its great

Cons
