Pros

None, I would leave negative stars if possible.

Cons

I walked into Pepe Auto excited for my first day of work and encountered some unfortunate hurdles VERY quickly. First thing I was told was to consult with my direct report in the event an executive member of the team asks for anything "questionable", stating that she should know better but just in case to call him and ask. Red flag one. Second red flag I encountered was the same member of executive management team belittling me in front of a colleague about how I wore a CLEAR nose retainer because I have a piercing and "should've known better having read the handbook and asking my direct report about it". Hence, why I wore the CLEAR retainer, so not to walk around with a gaping hole in my face. She went on about that for several minutes and finally let up. Next, I went to a meeting. On my way back, the same executive spoke to me about one of the employees who she knew was a personal friend of mine and had referred me for the position. She was discussing his personal life and his relationships with other employees while making comments about how he was a "player" and also discussing with me how much pot her son and friends smoke. I went about my first day and upon returning to work the following day, about an hour into my shift, I was terminated for being disrespectful enough to come in knowing I should not have been wearing a retainer in my nose. My direct report didn't even come speak to himself but rather sent the same executive who belittled me and gossiped to me previously, to whom I have no reporting responsibility. She also implied that I wasn't "on their level" and they were up here (as she indicated with a hand gesture) and I was down here. Upon my return home, I emailed my actual direct report to discuss and he couldn't even return an email. This review was left as a result of the unprofessionalism I experienced. Not to mention, we had discussed this in the interview - never terminate someone without a witness. I have never been so insulted by a "professional" C-level executive in my life (and I use that term loosely). You have lost several customers as a result of the mistreatment I experienced here.

Pros

I have worked for the Mercedes location for many years now and have not had a bad experience. As far as pro's to list a few (as there are many) my management has been exceptional. In life we run into circumstances out of our control and to work for a strong family run business that truly understand these things and supports you is incredible. On the job training is provided by the very knowledgeable employees, everyone is always very willing to help and offer guidance. Management tries to place people in positions where they will grow and the promote internally. Personally I have moved up a few times since being here and having my work ethic and efforts recognized is really nice.

Cons

The biggest challenge to working here is the same as any other dealership. The every changing world of automobiles. Though if you are willing to learn and grow this is more of an opportunity than a con.

A genuine standout in the Automotive Retail Trade

Pros

I've been with the Pepe Family (that's how we refer to it because that's what it's like...) for several years, full time. It's a cultural departure from the other dealerships and organizations that I worked with prior to joining. It's a relatively small, but growing auto group. People here feel a lot more appreciated by the folks they work for and with. Recognition is there. Unlike other auto groups, all employees get off major holidays to be with their family and enjoy the life they work hard for. A very family oriented organization! Opportunities to learn and earn are there. You can grow here and still actually enjoy your life outside of the job.

Cons

Not many. It's still the auto retail trade; long hours (although less than other places I've worked...) and intense moments still color The Life.
