Pros

They're very lucky to have a handful of people working for them that are truly lovely. Emphasis on 'handful'

Cons

Unsure where to start..... - If you're looking for job security, this isn't the place for you. One minute you're flying, getting praised and feel really valued, the next minute you're 'let go' with 0 notice and no reason. No feedback given, no opportunity to work your notice and hand over to colleagues. I had a huge client text me because my emails weren't being delivered....because they'd immediately deleted my gmail account - incredibly unprofessional and an awkward position to be put in. If you've got bills to pay and a family to support, I encourage you to avoid this company like the plague. HR dealt with this incredibly badly too. - For a company that works in the Diversity and Inclusion space, they're not very inclusive or diverse. It's actually funny how opposing they are of this. Difficult when you're talking to clients about the service and how it can help achieve their D&I objectives when near enough none (weren't any when I was there) of the practitioners are POC, queer, non-binary, trans etc. - I was one of the 23 people to loose their job with immediate effect. I was on holiday, and they fired me over a 3 minute phone call. Can I add, I'd taken my laptop on holiday because I was too afraid of not hitting my target and missing opportunities. I was literally sat at my laptop, talking to clients, when I got the call. - 0 work-life balance. Their product prevents burn out, but they're quite happy for their staff to be pulling all hours to hit their quota and complete work that's not within their job remit - Trying to grow too fast. Soon to launch both in the US and internationally and the product/team aren't ready for it. - Fake, cliquey culture. One minute you're flavour of the week, the next they're hiring new people who make you feel ostracised and like you're not good at your job. Very direct, personal comments are made about your character, making it a toxic place to work. - They promise you the world but don't deliver. Their strap line is "supporting people in the moments that matter" but that couldn't be further from the truth. Complete hypocrisy - Very good at appearing like they're successful and are one of the top places to work, but really, their data isn't very good which makes pitching difficult and they're clearly going through some financial issues as they had to sack 23 people on the spot. Not only this, but they then re-advertised for multiple roles 3 weeks later.... imagine how that feels to see your role become available again. Something fishy's going on here.... - No structure from senior management which made it very hard to hit target, and when you try to ask for more help/seek advice in areas that you can improve, you're threatened with a PIP - New hires in management aren't nice/knowledgeable of their role which makes your workload difficult to complete because they're all over the shop dictating this and that - The company delete negative glassdoor reviews to make themselves look better - watch out for this! They also ask their employees to write fake positive reviews. Complete unauthentic behaviour. - Underpaid in our last wage - promised they'd look after us and not short change us, but deducted a HUGE amount for the days we could've worked our notice but weren't able to. Again, just another immoral stab in the back. Whole heartedly let down by Peppy. They're not the company that they appear to be on paper, and you unfortunately have to be let go/bullied by one of the founders to see them for what they really are. Couldn't advise not working here more.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I can see that you are a former employee, which indicates you might have been let go in our recent headcount reductions. Alongside other tech companies, we've had to review our financial profile and we were very sad to let go approximately 10% of our team in late August. Before that time, we had an average GlassDoor rating of 4.7 built up over 3 years. We also published our employee engagement survey in July prior to the headcount reductions [link below]. Our positive results showed that 92% of employees wouldn’t leave Peppy, 94% of employees believe in Peppy’s mission and 84% of employees feel cared for at Peppy. In addition, our 0.6% average of voluntary leavers indicates that we very rarely see team members leave, either before or after the headcount reductions. Our focus is to continue making Peppy a great place to work for our current and future employees and to provide essential healthcare service for our users; services like menopause that they can’t get anywhere else. We wish you all the best in your future. Source: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/getpeppy_engagement-survey-results-activity-6957635361640456193-Wj4J/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop

Pros

- The product genuinely helps a lot of people and the feedback that is shared internally is really heart warming. - I've had the chance to work with some extremely talented individuals during my time at Peppy, they've hired some great people. - I've also been lucky enough to have an amazing manager/ team throughout my tenure but I know this is extremely inconsistent across the business with how people get treated by their managers. - The flexibility to work remotely is great. - In times where Peppy was growing, there was lots of autonomy and opportunities to grow which is great for career development.

Cons

- Unfortunately I don't see how Peppy will grow over the next 6-12 months, some members of the senior leadership team have made some really poor decisions, especially with spending money unecessarily. - They raised a $45m Series B in Jan 2023 but now have had to make 30% of the workforce redundant (multiple rounds of layoffs in the past year) plus shut down another area of the business which makes no sense. The market isn't great but where's $45m gone in 9 months? - Favouritism is rife throughout Peppy, if the founders like you then you're untouchable no matter your performance or if there's a role available for you. - Treatment of people could be better, I understand it's a VC backed start-up and there's lots of pressure however you should still treat people with respect when they put so much work in to try and make Peppy succeed. -The way some of the founders have spoken about employees behind their backs often made everyone feel uncomfortable but you just had to sit there and listen to it and not say very much out of fear.

We’re genuinely sorry to hear that you aren’t enjoying your time at Peppy. The past year has been challenging for the tech industry and Peppy is no exception to that. We’ve recently had to make some tough decisions across the business and we’re painfully aware of how these decisions have impacted our colleagues on a human level. But even the world’s most successful startups have had to dial up their financial resilience in the current funding environment. Recent changes mean that we now have minimal dependence on future VC funding and no reliance on hyper-growth. We therefore have a lot more control over our own destiny and the confidence to know that we can continue to achieve our mission over the long term. We are extremely proud of the awesome group of people working hard to bring Peppy’s mission to life and we’re committed to giving them the best possible experience along the way. We sincerely hope that your situation within Peppy improves very soon. But, even if that doesn’t happen, we wish you huge success in whatever you do next.

Pros

There are no pros working for an organisation who hire and fire, bully their people and big themselves up to cover all the cracks

Cons

- One of the co founders is an out and out bully, makes people cry and has no shame in humiliating one person in front of everyone. Peppy have yet to address this issue and dent it. I welcome a response to this as I’m sick of reading a poor response of “this should have been bought to our attention”…. It has and nothing was done about it. - Let go over 20 people, yet weeks later all the roles are being readvertised. Seriously? Isn’t the whole point of reducing headcount to reduce headcount? I can only assume they are clawing back shares they offered employees to give to a potential investor instead. Goes to show the confounders will go to any lengths for their own gain and will screw over anyone and everything to get their own way and have their five minutes of fame speaking with an investor - the LinkedIn accolades and “top employer to work for” is a pathetic cover up of covering the cracks at peppy, don’t fall for it. These “awards” are purely awarded on data, not how people feel in their roles. - have no hr structure in place, how they let 10% of the work force and the manner was a disgrace. No empathy, done on a zoom call and getting underpaid in the last pay check too was disgusting.
