Pros

If you are desperate for work this is a way to get entry into the construction permitting design industry.

Cons

Pay and benefits are incredibly uncompetitive expect significantly less then you will get at other places. Since the acquisition with Milrose HR functions have gone down the drain. Simple functions like setting up direct deposits, have to be coordinated with a a parent company on the east coast who clearly doesn’t care about PA. Be very careful when negotiating, I was denied several of my conditions that I had negotiated with the owner of the company because he made promises for whatever reason they could not or would not keep. It’s an incredibly difficult job which would be manageable if the company was supportive of their employees. Expect to be grilled by both your clients and your supervisors day and night. All you can do is apologize for things beyond your control and accept the reprimands, disciplines and tongue lashings. If by chance you don’t quit in your first five years they will likely make up a reason to fire you to keep costs down and profits up. This is the budget option of the industry so dont expect respect from your clients, they will treat you as though your disposable, and you are. The turn over is almost 100% in less then five years. All of the clients know this as they have usually worked with several rounds of people, they will tell you this pretty quickly as an ominous warning of things to come.

Pros

If you are clever you can avoid a lot of work, cozy up with Roy and you’ll always be protected.

Cons

Serious disconnect between day to day employees and management. It’s shocking how often management is flat out wrong about issues. The retention rate is virtually zero which creates a very uncomfortable vibe in the office. Basics like lunchrooms or convenient parking are not provided. The owner Roy is incredibly unprofessional, clearly picks and chooses his favorites and holds them to a completely different standard, anyone who challenges him disappears very quickly. Performance is tracked, but really doesn’t factor into promotions or pay. Promotions generally don’t happen, everyone seems stuck in place with the exception of Roy’s pets who seem to get promotions every quarter. Most of the employees are generally idiots, the level of competence is incredibly low, for example the printer was down for several days because no one could clear a simple paper jam. DO NOT WORK HERE - YOUVE BEEN WARNED

Pros

Decent coworkers, although the turnover is so excessive that rarely anyone stays over a year.

Cons

Awful place to work. The pay is lower than anywhere else in the industry for a workload that no one can handle. Management does not treat employees well and lets the clients run the show. Incredibly disorganized and dysfunctional. The owner is deceitful and plays favorites. No structure or protocol. Every day is a struggle to figure out who is doing what.
