Could Be Great. But Anything But

Pros

Great office. Lots of parties, primairly because CEO, unfairly criticized in posts, tries hard to motivate a disgruntled staff. Nice discount on pet products. Opportunity awaits with PetSmart at the helm, assuming we don't lose our jobs.

Cons

As hard as CEO tries, #2 undoes any good; her top skill is demotivating if not crushing spirit. Some other C-level equally ineffective but not as arrorgant/self-important. Staff trying to jump ship; already lost several key people and many others desperately trying to find new jobs. Website/content/community continues to be a total mess, not great for these 3 keys in business model. Not a natural teamwork-centric mindset, although people seem to get along. Compare to other places I've worked, seems little/no off-the-job socializing. But staff is so disgruntled, easy to undestand why.

Love pets. Hate people.

Pros

Naturally, the best thing about working here is the shared passion for pets. In addition, every person working there, with the exception of the C level people, is dedicated, creative and supportive. Overall, the concept is a great one and if you come in to the job with solid skills and a strong belief in your knowledge, you will learn and grow. Even if it is from watching mistakes being made despite advice. The benefits are standard, but solid. Work-life balance is average. You also can count on over all understanding in the case of illness or family emergency.

Cons

The cons, unfortunately, far outweigh any pluses that exist. The C level people are reactionary, undirected, unhelpful, hypocritical and abusive. The company values, while good at their core, do not apply to the whole, but rather fare utilized or the management to manipulate. That said, this is an extremely toxic work environment.

Pros

It's a challenge to write one review about my time at Pet360 because the experience was different before and after the acquisition by PetSmart. Both companies have a love for pets and have made that a part of the culture which makes for a happy work environment. At Pet360, I enjoyed working with a team of talented, passionate people to build something great. It was challenging work and you knew you were a part of building something special. We adapted and changed directions (which some would say is a con) and if what we tried wasn't good or better, we fixed it, learned and moved on. The culture of transparency and sharing information gave you a sense of ownership and pride and you could feel that in the vibe in the office. We participated in a lot of opportunities to give back in the community which added to the vibe and helped you get to know your colleagues on a different level.

Cons

Integration- let me start here. The biggest disappointment is that there was no attempt at a fusion and the integration strategy was to suck the little company into the big company machine. The timing of ownership and leadership changes at PetSmart (shortly after the acquisition of Pet360) left a lot of people wondering about the future. Otherwise, the cons are normal for big companies- decision making is painfully slow and you will spend a lot of time in meetings. Good thing pets can attend meetings.
