Pros

- Company has got new leadership who really value growth and employee retention. The work culture is really positive and people are very friendly. I was quite worried before joining due to many reviews on here, but seems as if things have changed - They really value upskilling. There are regular internal/external courses and chances to attend conferences - The Guildford office is really nice and the town is pretty nice (albeit a bit expensive) - For most new engineers/devs theres a clear growth plan - Far higher salaries than average, and they also help with relocation expenses.

Cons

- Not really flexible on hybrid working, so will be inconvenient for people commuting - Still some higher level employees who are quite stuck up, but I don't interact with them a lot so not a personal issue. - The engineer side of things is still stressful (from what I have heard) and perhaps some of the negative reviews apply to them more so than the developer roles

Pros

Petroleum experts offers a great starting point for anyone who is looking to grow their expertise as a technical professional. I joined Petex with no knowledge of the oil and gas industry. The first six months in the company are entirely dedicated to developing understanding of all the underlying principles over two comprehensive training projects. During this time not only do you gain significant knowledge, you also give regular presentations to display your knowledge to others. This combination of mastering the underlying physics and putting your knowledge to the test through rigorous presentations equips any graduate with the skills to not only approach demanding technical problems but to explain their reasoning to anyone.

Cons

Regular presentations to senior management will push you outside of your comfort zone.
